MINOR IN ISRAEL STUDIES!
If you’re majoring in History, Government & Politics or Jewish Studies OR are simply interested in Israel, consider registering for an Israel Studies Minor (just established this year)
Requirements:
a) 18 credits (At least 9 upper division)
b) Required courses:
• History of Israel and Zionism (or equivalent)
• Seminar in Israel Studies (ISRL 448)
• One course in the area of Middle East Studies
• Hebrew or Arabic language courses may be counted (see instructions)
Up to 6 credits can be used to satisfy requirements for both a major and a minor

FORMER RABIN AIDE TAPPED TO LEAD NEW ISRAEL STUDIES INSTITUTE
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Yoram Peri, former political adviser to late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and former editor-in-chief of the Israeli daily Davar newspaper, has been appointed director of the new Joseph and Alma Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies at the University of Maryland as well as chair of Israel studies.
